Richard Whiteoak
I’m passionate about helping high quality companies and management teams reach their full potential, and enabling long-term value creation for our clients and partners. I founded Whiteoak in 2016 with this vision, and today I’m proud to work with an incredible team of professionals who have deep expertise in selecting investments and growing private companies.
Prior to Whiteoak, I was a listed equities investor with Allan Gray, a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, and a hospital physician.
I hold a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Wales and an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Oxford. I am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Greg Garvin

Prior to Whiteoak I was Executive General Manager of People, Strategy & Stakeholders at Australia’s largest electricity transmission network, TransGrid. I was previously a senior Consultant with McKinsey & Company and Accenture, serving clients in Australia, the US, UK, Japan and South Africa.
I hold an AB in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from INSEAD. I am also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Lorcan Barden
My career has focused on building asset management firms from the client relationship side. [More content on role/work in the firm]
Prior to joining Whiteoak I held Head of Distribution roles with several high profile asset management firms. Earlier in my career, I was a management consultant at McKinsey and Company and a listed equities fund manager at Schroders in the UK.
I hold an MA from Oxford University and MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Udhav Goenka
I am an Investment Director based in Whiteoak’s Melbourne office. I have extensive experience across corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. [More content on role/work in the firm]
Prior to joining Whiteoak, I held roles with Kirwood Capital, Archer Capital and Macquarie Capital focusing on growth capital and private equity investments across Australia and New Zealand.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Economics and Finance.
Oliver Kirkland
I joined Whiteoak in 2017 to develop my career in evaluating investment opportunities and supporting portfolio companies.
Prior to Whiteoak I was a Management Consultant at Port Jackson Partners, where I helped clients develop corporate and business unit strategies in a range of sectors including financial services, industrials, infrastructure, agriculture, and consumer goods.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney, majoring in Economics and Finance.
Jason Wu
I am an Investment Manager, based in Whiteoak’s Sydney office. I am responsible for all aspects of the investment process including deal origination, deal execution, value creation and exit management. I have extensive investment, private equity and Board experience and I am excited to leverage my network and expertise to support businesses in their next phase of growth.
Prior to joining Whiteoak, I was previously at EQT Partners and Crecent Capital Partners focusing on Healthcare, Technology and Services private equity investments across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to investing, I was a Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group , where I helped clients develop corporate strategies in a range of sectors including healthcare, financial services, government, and consumer goods.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, majoring in Finance.
George Squibbs
I am an Investment Manager in the Sydney office with responsibility for end-to-end transactions, from origination through to portfolio support. I enjoy exploring investment opportunities and finding ways to help the portfolio companies succeed. Abbie Wang
I am an Investment Associate based in Whiteoak’s Sydney office. I joined the company in April 2024 with a passion for partnering with high quality founders and management teams to help their businesses grow. I support the team on all aspects of the investment process, with a particular focus on commercial due diligence for new deals.
Prior to Whiteoak, I developed my career in investment banking in the UBS Financial Institutions Group and also worked in pre-IPO growth equity investing in Australia
I hold Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics degrees from the University of Queensland, majoring in Finance and Quantitative Methods.
Deepesh Banerji
I have spent my career transforming and growing innovative digital businesses. In addition to acting as Portfolio Advisor for Whiteoak, I am Chief Product Officer for Deputy, a leading global workforce management software company, based in Australia.
Previously, I was Vice President of Product at CBS Interactive and General Manager at Everyday Health, a digital health business which scaled to list on the NYSE.
I hold a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Canada, and an MBA from Fordham University in New York.
Georgia Turner

Prior to joining Whiteoak, I was an Assistant Manager in KPMG’s Enterprise Division, where I developed a strong accounting and tax skillset and provided value to clients in an advisory capacity.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University, majoring in finance and accounting and a Bachelor of Business from Griffith University, majoring in management. I am also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA).
